A Safe Place to Protect Precious Futures

OUR COMMITMENT

Protecting each of our children is a sacred trust. Our mandatory trainings, background checks, protocols, and facilities contribute to the daily safety of each student. Each and every person at Nativity is called to an integrated culture of safety, where each adult is proactive, preventative, aware, and committed to reducing risk. This can all be done while maintaining a joyful and peaceful atmosphere.

Virtus: Protecting God’s Children

  • Extensive training for every member of clergy, professional staff, and even volunteer who will work with your children.

  • We require background checks, Code of Conduct agreements, database tracking, and visitor screening.

  • Students receive annual age appropriate trainings to empower them to be aware of their own warning signs and gives them the tools to advocate for their own safety.

Discipline, Freedom, and Success

Everyone from Socrates, great saints throughout time, and the leaders of nearly every great modern endeavor have famous quotes highlighting the inextricable relationship between discipline and freedom. By establishing clear rules and expectations within a school environment, students develop the self-discipline and virtues necessary to make responsible choices and ultimately achieve greater autonomy in their lives.

We try and see Christ in each student and want to model his love through our interactions with them. Love, as Christians understand, does not mean allowing someone to act in ways that are counter to their dignity or the dignity of others. As our 2025-26 year has begun, we are witnessing the fruits of our growing culture. We delight in seeing the growth that can spring from a positive and rightly ordered  learning environment.

FACILITIES & PROFESSIONAL BEST PRACTICES

Made major capital investments have been made to ensure our students’ comfort, safety, and security here at Nativity. Listed below are some of our capital upgrades, protocols, personnel choices, and professional guidance that make our community as safe as possible. This year we added two safety features that are unique to us in this county.

  • We employ properly trained and armed security officers to patrol the outside of our school during all school hours. This type of security has been cited as the best deterrent and response option for potential emergencies.

  • We have implemented the "Red Bag" protocols that have provided better training, communications, and safety measures in every single classroom. Learn more at RED BAG: make it safe to educate, https://getredbag.com/

  • 54 strategically located cameras are being monitored and recording at all times. From our interior hallways, to the exterior campus, our School, Church, and I.T. offices can see nearly all corners of our facility at any moment.

  • We have “hardened” our facility by replacing glass doors with new steel security doors (‘23), adding 3M security film to all windows accessible from the ground, and ensuring our entrances are electronically controlled by administrative staff. Sign-ins and badges are required for each and every visitor.

  • Our partnerships with the Broomfield Police Department (who provide us our dedicated School Resource Officer) and the Broomfield Fire Department allow us to keep our monthly drills up-to-date, monitor our fire readiness, and hold safety trainings in our classrooms.

  • Passed mold inspection: This Fall ('25) we had an external third party company test our school in various places for various types of mold. It was reported that our school is free from hurtful forms of mold.

  • We have 3 wall mounted Automated External Defibrillator's (AED's) alongside the first aide-kits and fire extinguishers around campus. Our school staff are CPR and AED certified!

  • Our wider parish community invested $800,000 in 2024 to update our HVAC, roofing, and other foundational structural items across the campus. Our preventative maintenance guidelines are meant to keep our parishioners and students comfortable for the foreseeable future.
