Nativity Preschool offers a high-quality, early childhood experience in a caring, safe, fun, and faith-filled environment, with both preschool and a pre-kindergarten classrooms.
Children will grow under a developmentally appropriate, Christ-centered, play-based curriculum covering all the major learning domains: Religion, Art, Literacy, Social Studies, Music, Physical Movement, social and emotional development, and Life Sciences.
Our overall goal is to accompany children in their social-emotional, physical and cognitive growth, preparing them for kindergarten and beyond in the larger K-8 Catholic community of Nativity: Faith & Reason.

Our early learning students develop skills and qualities such as...
Conversation
Creative Thinking
Motor Skills
Focus
Persistence
Independence
Empathy
Conflict Resolution

Christ-Centered & Play-Based
We teach our lessons using themes (All about my School/Family, Animals, Fall, Advent, Winter, Spring, Animals, Insects and more) based on the interests of the students. We enhance our curriculum with an early childhood literacy curriculum focusing on rhyming, syllables, compound words, and initial sounds in words.
Kindergarten Readiness
Encompasses both academic readiness and social maturity. We have seen children be more successful in kindergarten when they are more socially ready, so we encourage students with summer birthdays to attend an additional year of pre-k before heading off to kindergarten. Teachers partner with parents in guiding in this decision.

Preschool
Children must be 3 years old and fully potty trained.
-
Preschool introduces children to the school environment with a strong emphasis on social development.
-
Students learn to understand and express their emotions, share and take turns, solve problems, engage positively with peers, build friendships, and grow in independence through self-help skills.
-
Children are also introduced to early academic concepts, including counting, shapes, colors, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Daily Preschool Components:
Center Play • Circle Time • Recess (two 30-minute sessions) • Morning and Afternoon Snack • Lunch • Nap/Rest Time • Religion • Story Time
Pre-Kindergarten
Children must be 4 years old by October 1 and fully potty trained.
-
Students continue developing social and emotional skills while building independence and confidence as learners.
-
Children strengthen self-help skills, practice problem-solving with peers, and grow in their ability to participate in teacher-led activities.
The primary focus of Pre-K is preparing students for success in Kindergarten. Learning centers—including writing, art, math, religion, manipulatives/blocks, and fine motor activities—are more structured, with students rotating through small-group centers each day.
Students focus on a new letter each week, learning letter sounds, proper letter formation, words that begin with the letter, and how to identify it in print. Throughout the year, they also build attention span, persistence with challenging tasks, and a love of learning.
Daily Pre-K Components:
Center Play • Circle Time • Recess (two 30-minute sessions) • Morning and Afternoon Snack • Lunch • Nap/Rest Time • Religion • Story Time
