My name is Marie Hulquest. I started teaching at Nativity in 2010. I worked the first four years as the learning specialist and the past four as a kindergarten teacher. Previously, I was a stay-at-home mom for eight years. Before that, I taught third grade for three years at Sts. Peter and Paul School. I received a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from Colorado State University and my master’s in curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado-Denver.
I have been married for 18 years and have four children, two boys and two girls. The two oldest are Nativity graduates and attend Holy Family High School. The two youngest currently attend Nativity. Besides teaching, I love to read and watch my children in their many activities. On any given evening or weekend, you can find me driving around Broomfield and the surrounding areas to watch dance, soccer, football, softball, and basketball.
I love teaching kindergarten because everything is new and exciting at that age! It is so fulfilling to teach children how to read starting with the fundamentals and watch their growth from August to May. Kindergarten students absorb so much spiritually and academically. My goal is to help students grow in their faith and their love of Jesus Christ. I enjoy passing on my love for the rosary and teaching students to pray the rosary daily. I feel so blessed to work at Nativity.
